Burkert Electric Water Valves
Issues with Electric Burkert water valves breaking the diaphragm, and after repair, the valve may not open.
UPDATE : In March of 2007 we implemented a Viton blend diaphragm with code FPM molded into the diaphragm. This was in response to continued failures of the EPDM and SBR style diaphragms. Valves and repair parts began shipping in second quarter 2007 with the FPM diaphragm. (GLL 051607)

EPDM replacements were available after 3-25-04 and until second quarter 2007. (GLL 051607)

From the Burkert Product manager:

One thing to check is the flow direction of the valves bonnet (cover) in relation to the body. Make sure the arrows on the body and cover are pointed in the same direction. This is not a high probability but could affect performance.

Also, sometimes it takes a little back pressure to kick start the valve. Try restricting the flow downstream of the valve if possible and see what happens.

When actuating the coil. Make sure you can hear the plunger snap-up into the coil. If you dont then remove power and check the resistance of the coils between the two parallel contacts. If it reads Zero or infinity then the coil is bad and needs to be replaced. US07655's coil resistance should measure 811 Ohms +/-10%.
