The enclosed documentation from the manufacturer (Baldor) states to check the oil level in teh gear reducer frequently. It also shows you the oil level plug, the drain plug, and the oil fill/vent plug. The oil should be changed every 3 years or 10,000 operating hours. Use a ISO 220 mineral oil. It takes approx 2.3 pints of oil to refill the gear box after it has been drained.
