Clear memory for new 8088 bds
On the newer style 8088 bds that have the super cap to maintain memory, it is necessary to leapfrog the RAM chips to erase memory. These chips are in the same row as the software chips. They look just like the software but do not have the white label. There are 3 of them. Put the first chip in the second position, the second chip in the third position and the third chip in the first position. This should make the device come up in configure when turned on with the key in program.

Creating Formula Error and inserting the built in formulas (Mk1 Serial)
1. First leapfrog the chips as above.
2. Go into MODIFY or CREATE a formula.
3. Proceed to the first step and change the number under the hot water valve.
4. Push NEXT and the cursor moves under the cold water valve.
5. Turn the key to RUN and press next till the display says FORMULA ERROR.
6. When you see FORMULA ERROR, press and hold 4, 5, and 6 (at the same time).
7. While holding 4, 5, and 6 turn the key to program.
8. The display should say PRESS INSERT FOR BUILT IN FORMULAS.
9. Press insert and the machine will have 6 formulas and step names.
