Black Squares
Display: Black squares, stuck on copywrite, fading in & out.
PROBLEMS: The machine display shows black squares on the liquid crystal display.
Sometimes shows black squares, sometimes show copyright (stops at checksum).
Display Fades in and out.
TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE:
1. If it is a new board, check that there is software in the board.
2. Check that the harness to the processor board is secure.
3. Check that there are no bent pins on the software chip.
4. Replace the software.
5. If the machine is a RWP with a software datecode of 86321or later, check that the #1 dip switch is set to "on". It must be in the "on" positions to operate properly.
6. On MKI machines, if the 5 volts at the processor board dropped to about 4.7 VDC, the display would exhibit black squares.
