SUBJECT: TILTING WASHER-EXTRACTORS -- AND SOME IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Dear MILNOR Dealer:

It's important that any facility with tilting washer-extractors (or dye-extractors) assess safety procedures on a regular basis.

Tilting washer-extractors or dye-extractors -- any manufacturer's -- must be treated with caution, as with any moving machinery. Otherwise, they can maim or even kill.

Every laundry with tilting machines should:

-- Make sure -- through rigid safety procedures -- that no one ever puts any part of his or her body under a tilted machine unless both safety supports are securely in place.

-- Make sure the safety supports for each machine are always available and easily accessible -- and that they are used when maintenance is performed. (If you know of any that don't have two steel supports for each of their tilting Milnor machines, please contact us.)

-- Make sure the enclosed warning label is posted on each machine, where it can be seen easily. (If you need more, please write or call Monica Naquin, 504/467-9591, Ext. 454.)

Also enclosed are safety instructions from a current microprocessor washer - extractor manual. This information covers not only the tilt feature, but other features as well. Pertinent sections of it should be made part of every plant's safety program.

Pleas let us know if we may be of further help.

Sincerely,
